Villa Park Elementary School, Villa Park
Built in 1919, the Villa Park Elementary School was a rare example in Orange County of Beaux Arts style combined with Spanish Colonial features. The building was designed by H. Alfred Anderson and Richard C. Farrell Architects of Los Angeles, and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003. Originally occupying a park-like setting, a new school was built around it sometime in the 1960s. Time ran out on community efforts over many years to save or move the building. Its awkward location in a school courtyard caused ongoing parent concern about safety and utility. It was demolished by the Orange Unified School District in 2017.
